Water-tightness (Size B only). The specimen cup shall be filled with tap water at room temperature to the top of its graduations. A cap shall then be firmly secured on the cup, and then the cup shall be inverted. The inverted cup shall rest on a sheet of paper which is placed on a flat surface. After fifteen minutes the sealed cup and paper shall be inspected for evidence of leakage shall constitute a defect.
Capacity (Size B only). The cup shall be filled with water to within 1/8 inch (3.175 mm) of the top with water from a known graduated source. A capacity less than 4-1/4 ounces (126 ml) or greater than 4-3/4 ounces (140 ml) shall constitute a defect.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. Unless otherwise specified, preservation, packaging, and packing shall be to a degree of protection to preclude damage to containers and/or contents thereof under normal shipping conditions, handling, etc., involving shipment from the supply source to the receiving activity, plus reshipment from receiving activity, and shall conform to applicable carrier’s rules and regulations. Intermediate and exterior packaging quantities and labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contract and/or order.
