Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics.
Sampling for examination. Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 1.0 (percent defective) and an inspection level of S-4. The unit of product for examination purposes shall be 12 inch length of the envelope roll as specified in this description.
Defects.
Envelope not fabricated from laminated film and Mylar with surgical Kraft paper suitable for heat sealing.
Envelope does not have sterilization indicator markings.
Envelope not free of tears, cuts, holes, or perforations.
Film front not clear enough for easy product identification.
Envelope not free of grease, dirt, or foreign material.
Sampling for tests. Sampling for all tests including dimensional test, shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 2.5 (percent defective) and inspection level of S-1 for the dimensional test and seal strength test, and with an AQL of zero (percent defective) and an inspection level of S-1 for the one twelve inch length of the envelope roll.
Tests.
Steam indicator test. The steam indicator of the envelope shall change to the degree required by the envelope instructions when exposed to either a 3-1/2 minute at 272°F pre-vacuum cycle or a 250°F/20 minute gravity cycle. No test failure shall be permitted.
