Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon the Government’s request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate.
Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item.
Sampling for testing and examination. Sampling for testing and examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105 with an AQL of 0.4 (percent defective) and an inspection level of III. The unit of product for testing and examination purposes shall be one infant incubator.
Tests. All tests shall be performed on a first article sample as follows:
Safety Test.
Infant incubator maximum chassis source current shall not exceed 100 microamperes rms for both ground open and ground intact conditions. Test equipment shall be a leakage current tester/safety analyzer with the capability to accurately measure chassis source current.
Performance.
The manufacturer shall demonstrate to the Government via mutually acceptable test methods compliance with the following specifications and performance criteria:
An air sensing mode.
A skin sensing mode.
An air mode temperature range accuracy of ± 0.4°C minimum.
A skin mode temperature range of accuracy ± 0.2°C minimum.
An ability to raise the infant environment humidity to approximately 50 percent.
A fresh air supply of 35 L/M minimum.
Control system shelf-check upon power-up.
