The incubator shall perform a temperature control system self-check upon power-up. The incubator shall alarm upon the following conditions or events:
High temperature
Patient Temperature 1°C from skin mode setpoint
Sensor Failure
Power Failure
The incubator shall have a backup thermostat to insure high temperature alarm if the control thermostat fails.
The incubator shall not exceed 143 cm in height, 70 cm in depth, and 116 cm in width. The infant bed area shall be at least 62 cm by 36 cm. The incubator shall weigh no more than 100 KG.
Incubator maximum chassis source current shall not exceed 100 microamperes rms for both ground open and ground intact conditions.
Workmanship. The infant incubator shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One infant incubator, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
