The underside of the tabletop shall have two tracks to support the pull-out instrument board. The tabletop shall have an approximately 9 inch wide insert which can be slid back to create an opening in the tabletop, which will accommodate a stainless steel pan. The pan shall have the following approximate dimensions:

The stainless steel used for the framework and the drain pan shall be American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) 300 series.
All welds shall be complete with no breaks or cracks. The welds shall be ground smooth to blend with adjacent surfaces, and shall be clean, with no pitting, spatter, or discoloration.
The formica tabletop finish shall be uniform and free of scratches, discoloration, and burrs. The tabletop corners shall be rounded, and all edges shall be smooth.
Workmanship. The orthopedic operating table shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One orthopedic operating table, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
