Urinals shall have a capacity of 1000 ml ± 50 ml when placed in the upright position. Graduations are required for the Type I and Type II urinals. Graduations are required for the Type III urinal; however, urinals having graduations are acceptable. Graduations must be easily read. These urinals are not recommended for uses where accurate urinary output measurement is required.
The odor shield lid for the Type I and Type II urinals shall be tight-fitting to minimize accidental spills that may occur if the urinal is placed in other than the upright position. The lid for the Type III urinal shall be tight-fitting enough to prevent leaking when filled to capacity and when resting on its side-sitting surface.
The reusable urinal shall be steam sterilizable using steam under pressure at 250 degrees F, (121 degrees C.).
The urinal shall be free of grease, oil, burrs, cracks, pits, scratches, and foreign material.
Workmanship. The urinals shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Type I. Each (EA)
Type II. Each (EA)
Type III. Package (PG). One package containing 50 urinals, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the government. The government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
