COVER, SURGICAL INSTRUMENT AND DRESSING TRAY
(Aluminum)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-C-37732 which is cancelled.
This Commercial Item Description covers a surgical instrument and dressing tray cover.
Salient characteristics:
The surgical instrument and dressing tray cover shall be fabricated in accordance with DPSC Drawing No.4061-4344. The cover shall be formed from a single piece of 0.064 inch thick type 6061-T4 aluminum alloy. After fabrication, the cover shall be treated electrolytically in a bath containing sulfuric acid to produce a uniform anodic coating on the metal surface. The anodic coating shall not be dyed or pigmented. The coating weight shall be a minimum of 600 milligrams per square foot.
All surfaces and edges of the cover shall be even. The cover shall not be bent and shall have no burrs or sharp edges.
The cover shall have no holes, tears, or ruptures. The cover shall not be discolored and shall be clean. The cover shall be free of dirt, oil, grease, or other foreign matter.
Workmanship. The surgical instrument and dressing tray cover shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One cover, as specified, constitutes one unit.
