COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
LIDDING SHEET, UNIT DOSE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a lidding sheet suitable for use with a solid and liquid dose packaging system.
Salient characterstics:
The unit dose lidding sheet shall provide for a tamper evident seal on individual doses of solid and liquid medication. The lidding sheets shall be differentiated into solid or liquid lidding and shall be of the following types.

The lidding sheet shall be 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide by 9 inches (22.9 cm) long. The sheet shall be heat sealed to the blister package to provide a moisture barrier for the contents. The sheet shall consist of a paper foil layer with a heat seal coating that activates the seal when heat and pressure are applied.
The sheeting shall provide positive sealing of the blister sheet and shall provide a peelable, non-resealable lid for convenient access to the packaged medication at the point of use.
Workmanship. The unit dose lidding sheet shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package, containing 25 unit dose lidding sheets of Type 1, Type 2, or Type 3, as specified constitutes one unit.
