RACK-BIN ASSEMBLY, PHARMACEUTICAL STORAGE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a 108 bin, double-sided floor stand shelving unit suitable for pharmacy storage.
Salient characteristics:
The pharmaceutical rack-bin assembly consists of a free standing rack, approximately 64 inches (162.6 cm) high by approximately 36 inches (91.4 cm) wide supporting a total of 108 bins, 54 on each side, on 10 evenly spaced horizontal rails.
The rack shall support the following number of bins with the approximate overall dimensions:

The bins shall be fabricated of high-density polyethylene. Each bin shall have a molded slot on the front surface for an identification card.
Each individual 5-3/4 inch (14.6 cm) or 8-3/4 inch (22.2 cm) wide bin shall be capable of supporting at least 15 pounds of contents.
The rack shall be supported by two flanged, triangular floor mounts. Each floor mount shall be approximately 8 inches (20.3 cm) high and approximately 22 inches (55.9 cm) long with an approximately 1-1/2 inch (3.8 cm) flange.
The frame of the rack shall include at least two diagonal braces and all necessary hardware for assemblage.
