PAD, PRESSURE POINT, PHYSICOTHERAPEUTIC
(Eggcrate Style Foam Pad)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a foam pad suitable for prevention and treatment of decubitus ulcers.
Salient Characteristics:
The physicotherapeutic pressure point pad shall be constructed of open cell structure foam suitable for prevention and treatment of decubitus ulcers (pressure sores). The pad shall be bed-sized, designed to distribute the patient’s weight in such a manner that minimizes pressure to tissues.
The pad shall be approxiamately 2-3/4 inches thick, by 34 inches wide, and 73 inches long. The pad shall be constructed of open cell foam to allow more air circulation for the comfort of the patient’s skin.
Workmanship. The pressure point pad shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing six pads, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections
