COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SURGICAL PACK, DISPOSABLE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a sterile, disposable surgical pack which is used for Cesarean section.
Salient characteristics:
1. The surgical pack shall be a sterile, disposable, Cesarean section pack, for creating a sterile field specifically for Cesarean section (abdominal) delivery and care of the newborn infant. The surgical pack shall consist of at least the following components in the listed nominal dimensions:
a. One (1) overwrap/tablecover, no less than 44 by 88 in (111.76 by 223.52 cm).
b. One (1) Mayo stand cover, with pad, no less than 23 by 55 inches (58.4 by 139.7 cm).
c, One or two large or extra large surgical gown, with hand towel.
d. Two (2) extra protection, large or extra-large surgical gowns, with towels 19 by 20 inches (48.26 by 50.8 cm) or 18 by 24 inches (45.72 by 60.96 cm).
e. Ten (10) pre-washed gauze laparotomy pads, no less than 12 by 12 inches (30.5 by 30.5 cm) (optional).
f. One (1) Cesarean section drape sheet 113 inches (287.02 cm) overall featuring:
Cesarean section drape with reinforcement.
Clipping tabs (optional).
Adhesive film with triangular fenestration 7 by 7 by 8 inches (17.78 by 17.78 by 20.3 cm) (optional).
Fluid collection bag with adhesive closure.
Cord holders (optional).
Armboard covers.
g. Two (2) absorbent towels, 19 by 20 inches (48.3 by 50.8 cm) or 18 by 24 inches (45.72 by 60.96 cm).
