TRAY, STERILIZATION, ARTHOSCOPIC INSTRUMENT COMPONENTS
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a corrosion-resisting steel tray with cover used for handling, carrying and sterilization of arthoscopic instrument components.
Salient characteristics:
The tray shall be a lightweight, stainless steel sterilization case, Approximately 16 inches long by 10 inches wide by 1-5/8 inches thick (40 cm by 25.4 cm by 4.13 cm), specifically designed to hold all components of the arthoscopic intra-articular surgery system during handling and sterilization,.
The tray shall have a detachable cover permitting good visibility and easy replacement on sterile surgical fields. The tray shall rest evenly on a flat surface without rock or wobble.
The top and bottom of the tray shall be perforated with hundreds of minute holes for maximum steam or ethylene oxide penetration of case contents.
The tray shall have a multiple interior compartments individually shaped to the contour and sizes of the intra-articular power system components.
The tray bottom shall have a minimum of four integral V-notched metal strips welded to the tray which automatically center the instruments or scopes. The V-notched metal strips shall accommodate at least 12 instruments or scopes. Springs in the cover shall totally immobilized them when the cover is closed.
The tray shall have dual spring locks for securing the lid to the tray bottom during handling and sterilization.
The tray shall have three handles, one on each end and one centered on the front lateral panel.
