COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BLISTER SHEET, UNIT DOSE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a blister sheet suitable for use with a solid and liquid dose packaging system.
Salient characteristics:
The unit dose blister sheet shall provide for a vapor and moisture barrier to protect its contents, either solid or liquid. The blister sheets shall be differentiated into solid or liquid and shall be of the following types:
Type 1- 18 dose, solid
Type 2- 40 dose, solid
Type 3- 5 ml., liquid, 10 doses
Type 4- 15 ml., liquid, 10 doses
Type 5- 30 ml., liquid, 10 doses
The blister sheet shall be 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide by 9 inches (22.9 cm) long. It shall be fabricated of a commercial grade polypropylene suitable for solid and liquid containment. The sheet shall contain a blister package for each dose as specified above for the type.
The blister sheet shall be amber in color to inhibit ultra violet penetration and protect light sensitive drugs. The sheets shall be transparent to allow visualization of contents.
The individual packages shall be easily separated from the sheets. The packages shall open easily.
The blisters for liquid doses shall have graduated markings to aid in the filling process.
