The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers an orthopedic hand operating table suitable for use with a standard operating table.
Salient characteristics:
The table shall be a Boyer-Parker style orthopedic operating table for hand surgery that shall be compatible with any standard operating table.
The table shall have a tabletop constructed of a minimum 5/8 inch thick high density particleboard, laminated on all exposed surfaces with a 1/16 inch thick high pressure plastic laminate (formica or equal). The table shall have collapsible legs to provide for ease in moving and storing. The legs shall be vertically adjustable to allow fitting to any operating table height.
The tabletop shall be 46-1/4 inches plus or minus 1/2 inch long. The maximum overall width shall be 23-3/8 inches plus or minus 1/4 inch, shaped to the configuration of the Boyes-Parker style hand operating table. The table shall have a pull-out instrument board to allow easy access to, and positioning of, instruments during surgery.
