TABLE, TREATMENT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a heavy duty, wooden treatment table with foam pad.
Salient characteristics:
The treatment table shall be of heavy duty wood construction with the following approximate dimensions:
Width – 30 inches (76.2 cm)
Length – 78 inches (198.1 cm)
Height – 32 inches (81.3 cm)
The table shall have a full length lower shelf and an upper smooth gliding, pull-out drawer approximately 20 inches wide. The table legs shall be at least 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter or 3 inches (7.6 cm) square. All metal hardware shall be corrosion resisting.
The table shall be provided with a 2 inch (5 cm) thick foam pad covered in acid-resistant vinyl, sized to cover the entire table. The foam pad shall have no large voids or objectionable odor. The cover shall be fire resistant. The table shall have a raised rim around the top edge to prevent the pad from slipping.
The table shall be constructed to hold a patient of 300 pounds without distortion of the table top or any of the table components.
The table shall be provided with one adjustable arm board.
The table finish shall be smooth and uniform and free of scratches, splinters, and discoloration.
The table shall be so constructed that all corners shall be rounded and edges smooth. There shall be no danger of tearing of clothing by inadvertently brushing against the table.
