DUMBBELL SET, PHYSICAL THERAPY
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a dumbbell set complete with mobile storage wagon suitable for physical therapy.
Salient characteristics:
The dumbbell set shall be iron, with a mobile storage wagon, suitable for use in progressive resistance exercise activities during physical therapy. The dumbbell set shall consist of two each of the following weights (total weight = 55kg):
A. 0.5 KG
B. 1.0 KG
C. 1.5 KG
D. 2.0 KG
E. 2.5 KG
F. 3.0 KG
G. 3.5 KG
H. 4.0 KG
I. 4.5 KG
J. 5.0 KG
The circular rod section of each dumbbell shall be approximately four inches in length and approximately one inch in diameter. The dumbbells shall be free from surface defects such as sharpness, discoloring or stains.
The storage wagon shall be mounted on four smooth rolling casters and be designed to secure the dumbbell set in place during wagon transport. A storage compartment shall be provided on the storage wagon to adequately store twenty 5-1/2 pound sandbags.
The storage wagon shall be approximately 46 inches (117 cm) long, 25 inches (63 cm) wide, and 41 inches (104 cm) high.
The storage wagon shall have no sharpness on exposed surfaces, edges, or corners. There shall be no danger of cutting the hands of the user, or tearing of clothing by inadvertently brushing against the wagon.
