COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TABLE, SURGICAL INSTRUMENT AND SURGICAL DRESSING Straight-Top
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Type II of Federal Specification AA-T-55B which is cancelled.
This Commercial Item Description covers a mobile, corrosion-resisting steel surgical instrument and surgical dressing table.
Salient characteristics:
The surgical instrument and surgical dressing table shall be fabricated of American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Series 300 corrosion-resisting steel. The table shall have a length of 33 inches plus or minus 1 inch, a width of 18 inches plus or minus 1 inch, an overall height between 32 inches and 35 inches, and a design according to figure 1. The table shall sit evenly on a flat surface.
The table shall be supported by four uprights made from corrosion-resisting steel tubing not less than 1 inch in outside diameter with a minimum wall thickness of 0.049 inch. The uprights shall extend between 2 inches and 2-1/2 inches above the table top shelf.
The table shall be supplied with a guard rail, which shall be the highest point on the table, and shall extend along the long or back side of the table and the two shorter sides. It shall be constructed of steel tubing not less than 3/8 inch outside diameter by 0.049 wall thickness, or steel rod not less than 5/16 inch outside diameter.
