TABLE, SURGICAL INSTRUMENT AND SURGICAL DRESSING
Angular-Top
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description as a replacement for Type I of Federal Specification AA-T-55B which is cancelled.
This Commercial Item Description covers a corrosion-resisting steel angular-top surgical instrument and surgical dressing table.
Salient characteristics:
The surgical instrument and surgical dressing table, having an angular table top, shall be fabricated of American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Series 300 corrosion-resisting steel. The table shall have a width of 15 inches plus or minus 1 inch, with a height of 34-1/2 inches plus or minus 1/2 inch. The table top shall be angled at 135O plus or minus 2O with a 72 inch plus or minus 1 inch dimensions between the two outer rear uprights as shown in figure 1.
The table shall be supported by six uprights, or leg, of 1 inch diameter by 0.049 inch minimum wall thickness corrosion-resisting steel tubing located one at each corner and one each at front and back center of the table. The uprights shall be reinforced by bracing of 1/2 inch solid corrosion-resisting steel rod or 3/4 inch outside diameter by 0.049 inch wall thickness corrosion-resisting steel tubing welded to all six legs with cross bracing approximately 7 inches above the floor, as shown in figure 1.
