SURGICAL PACK, DISPOSABLE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to A-A-0051267 (DM), dated 9 December 1985.
This commercial item description covers a sterile, disposable, individually sealed, delivery room surgical pack for use in vaginal obstetrical procedures and newborn infant care.
Salient characteristics:
The delivery room drape pack shall be sterile, disposable, and fabricated of nonwoven material for creating a sterile field specifically for vaginal obstetrical procedures and for care of the delivered infant. The pack shall consist of at least the following components in the listed approximate dimensions:
a. One overwrap/tablecover moisture-resistant, 44 by 78 inches
b. One set-up cover, moisture-resistant, 44 by 75 inches
c. One absorbent towel, 14 by 24 inches or 19-3/4 by 20 inches
d. Two utility drapes, moisture-resistant, 14 by 24 inches (optional)
e. One under-buttock drape, moisture-resistant, 36 by 56 inches with a 10 inch cuff and impervious fabric reinforcement
f. Two leggings, 29 by 48 inches with 6 inch cuffs
g. One abdominal drape, moisture-resistant, 31 by 57 inches with an impervious fabric reinforcement.
h. Two sanitary napkins, absorbent, 3 by 10-1/2 inches
j. Ten sponges, radiopaque, 12-ply absorbent gauze, 4 by 4 inch
k. One placenta basin, rigid plastic, 8-3/4 by 12-1/4 by 3-1/2 inches
l. One syringe, bulb
m. One infant blanket, 30 by 30 inches
n. One umbilical cord clamp, plastic
o. One vaginal packing sponge, absorbent, radiopaque, 4-1/2 by 18 inches
