BOTTLE, URINE SPECIMEN AND CAP, SNAP-ON

This commercial item description covers a plastic, disposable urine specimen bottle with plastic snap-on cap suitable for use in military medical treatment facilities.

Salient characteristics:
Shall be an unpigmented, disposable polypropylene bottle of at least 6 ounce capacity with snap-on cap suitable for use in collection, transportation and analysis of urine specimens within military medical facilities.
BOTTLE.
The bottle shall be approximately 4 inches in height, with a base approximately 2-1/4 inches square, or approximately 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Walls shall taper to form a round neck approximately 3/4 inch in height and 1-5/8 inch outside diameter. Neck shall have an integral non-drip pouring spout and an inner well for test strip dip testing of small volume urine specimens. Dip well shall be located opposite (180o) from the pouring spout.
The bottle shall be distinctively graduated on a dual scale in 1/2 ounce steps from 1 to 6 ounces and in 15 milliliter (ml) steps from 30 ml to 180 ml. Scale shall be numbered at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 ounce levels and at 60, 120, and 180 ml levels. Graduations shall be distinct and legible and labeled as mls or ounces.
The bottle shall be stable when placed on a flat level surface.
Rim shall be free of all deformities and imperfections.
CAP.
The cap shall be round, unpigmented plastic cap approximately 1-3/4 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch high.
The cap shall have a lift tab appropriately sized to provide for easy removal of the cap from the bottle.
Cap design shall include an annular bead on the inside to allow a snap-on fit on the urine specimen bottle. Cap shall protect contents from dust and other contaminants.
