PUMP UNIT, ALTERNATING PRESSURE POINT PAD, PHYSICOTHERAPEUTIC
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description describes an air filled pad (used on top of the mattress) with a pump supplying air for the pad. The pad provides alternating pressure points intended to increase circulation, aiding in avoiding decubiti.
Salient characteristics:
Pump Unit, Alternating Pressure Point Pad, 100 Volts, 60 Hz., AC, with carrying handle, producing at least 60 mm, Hg. air pressure, pump approved under UL 544, or equal, 7-1/2 feet (229 cm) usable cord +1/2 foot (15 cm) – minus 0 feet (0 cm), with grounding type plug, individually boxed.
Pad Alternating Pressure Point, Physicotherapeutic, plastic, disposable, minimum 28 inches (71 cm) wide to 76 inches (193 cm) long +1 inch [(2.54 cm) – minus 0 inch (0 cm)] inflated, with at least 7 foot (213 cm) + 1 foot (213 cm) + 1 foot (30 cm) of connector tubing and adapter to fit all nationally sold App pumps.
Unit. The unit of issue shall appear in solicitation.
Workmanship. The pump unit, alternating pressure point pad, physicotherapeutic, shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
